Jamestown, CA – Two Dead, Three Injured after Fatal Accident on Highway 108 and Highway 120
Jamestown, CA (July 18, 2018) – Local news sources reported that a fatal traffic collision involving a 1993 Toyota Camry and a 2017 Ford Fiesta took place in the vicinity of Highway 108 and Highway 120. The incident occurred a little after 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 15, 2018. As of now, authorities have identified the Ford driver as Berkley resident Julieta Pisani-McCarthy and her passenger as 49-year old Brian McCarthy, who was riding in the front seat of the vehicle when it crashed. No further details regarding McCarthy’s juvenile passengers, the 91-year old Camry driver, and his 86-year old female passenger have been disclosed at this time.
Based on initial reports, the 91-year old man, of Sonora, was driving the Camry at unspecified speeds down the east lanes of Highway 108. At the same time, the McCarthy was driving the Ford Fiesta west along Highway 120 and had attempted to turn left on 108. At some point, the Fiesta plowed into the oncoming Camry.
Sadly, officials confirmed the 86-year old female passenger of the Camry had died at the crash site.
Afterward, the 91-year old man was flown to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where he initially received treatment and later died.
Personnel reported that Julieta Pisani-McCarthy had sustained traumatic injuries from the impact and was flown to Modesto Memorial Hospital.
Meanwhile, Brian McCarthy and the two children, 6 and 8 years in age, were transported to Adventist Health Sonora for treatment. Medical personnel have not disclosed their current conditions.
Officials confirmed DUI did not play any role in the events leading up to the crash.
