Pedestrian Accidents in California
Unfortunately, thousands of pedestrians are injured every year in California for a multitude of reasons. The leading cause being driver’s error, which is when a driver is speeding, driving under the influence, texting while driving, falling asleep at the wheel, conversing with a passenger, or any other distracting activity. All drivers are supposed to yield as they approach pedestrians, no matter who has the right of way.
Because the reports state that the woman was standing on the curb when the accident happened, it appears as though the driver may be completely at fault. Since it was late at night, there’s a chance drugs, alcohol, fatigue, or speed could have played a role. Once the police finish their investigation, the injured woman could file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a California personal injury attorney.
