Lake Elsinore, CA- Hwy 74 Near Grand Ave and Colima Rd Site of Major Injury Accident

Lake Elsinore, CA (June 17, 2019)- A suspected DUI driver crashed into another vehicle at approximately 10:13 pm on Monday, west of Grand Avenue on Highway 74 (Ortega Highway).

The California Highway Patrol stated that a suspected drunk driver in a dark blue SUV veered into the opposite-direction lane and hit another vehicle head-on.

Emergency medical personnel arrived at the site to treat an unknown number of victims. At least one of the victims experienced major injuries. However, the number of victims and their current status are not known at this time.

Traffic was delayed in the area as tow trucks arrived at the scene to remove the damaged vehicles.

The crash is under investigation.
