Traffic Back-ups on California’s Highways
Traffic is a fact of life in many parts of California. In fact, Los Angeles is home to one of the worst traffic pile-ups of all time: foggy weather caused a crash in LA in 2002 that damaged over 216 vehicles.
An exciting event such as the “super bloom,” a music festival, poor weather, and other factors can cause traffic back-ups. When traffic backs up, the risk of a pile-up or chain reaction crash becomes high. When people are anxious to get where they want to go, accidents can occur even if traffic is moving at or below the speed limit.
