Lakeside, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Woodside Avenue

Lakeside, CA (August 5, 2018) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was struck and killed by a motor vehicle late Saturday night on Woodside Avenue. The deadly accident reportedly took place at around 11:00 p.m. in Lakeside.

The report filed by the California Highway Patrol stated that the female pedestrian was attempting to cross Woodside Avenue when she was apparently struck by a vehicle. Emergency responders were immediately called to the scene of the accident in order to administer aid to the catastrophically injured woman.

Responders performed CPR on the victim which proved to be at no avail as she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim did not flee the scene but remained at the location in order to cooperate with authorities. There was no word as to whether or not anyone else was affected by the incident.

The name of the victim has not been released at this time, most likely to allow for the notification of next to kin. The California Highway Patrol is currently in charge of the investigation.
