Lakeside, California – Pedestrian Dies after Collision on Interstate 8 Freeway

Lakeside, California (July 5, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a pedestrian died after a fatal collision that took place on the Interstate 8 Freeway in the vicinity of East Lakeview Road. The incident occurred at approximately 4:03 AM in the early morning on Thursday, July 05, 2018. Authorities have not revealed any detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the accident at this time.

As per the CHP report, the driver of a blue Chevrolet truck was driving along Interstate 8 and spotted a pedestrian, who was standing in the center of the freeway. Without warning, the Chevrolet plowed into the victim. Law enforcement has not revealed if the driver had attempted to swerve out of the way to prevent the accident. Later, officials declared the pedestrian dead at the scene.

CHP did not reveal if the motorist sustained any injuries during the crash.
