Lakewood, CA – Child Severely Injured after Suspected Hit-and-Run on Graywood Avenue
Lakewood, CA (July 25, 2018) – A local news source reported that a child sustained severe injuries as the result of a suspected hit-and-run incident that took place in the 5800 block of Graywood Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 6:15 PM in the evening on Sunday, July 22, 2018. Members of the victim’s family identified her as 5-year old Arie Cramer. No information concerning the identity and whereabouts of the hit-and-run driver has been provided at this time.
According to reports from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Cramer had been in the front portion of her family’s home on Graywood Avenue when, for indeterminate reasons, an unidentified vehicle crashed through the house and struck her.
Authorities confirmed the juvenile victim had sustained severe injuries including breaks to her femur and skull and bleeding inside her brain. Later, Cramer was transported to an intensive care unit and was taken into surgery. Medical personnel have confirmed she survived the procedures and is slowly recovering. Meanwhile, individuals associated with the victim have created a GoFundMe page to contribute to medical expenses.
Minimal information about the driver has surfaced. Reports confirmed the suspect did not remain at the crash site and escaped. Police are currently working hard to locate this individual.
We extend our most heartfelt prayers and most loving thoughts to Miss Arie Cramer and wish her a swift and efficient recovery from her injuries during this difficult time.
Hit-and-Run Accident in Lakewood
Hit-and-run accidents are serious incidents that should not be taken lightly. By law, drivers involved in a crash are required to stay at the scene of the accident and cooperate with authorities. Fleeing a crash site is considered a cowardly, criminal act that can result in severe punishment including a felony. Given the circumstances of this case, the driver will be held fully accountable for causing the crash and inflicting severe injuries on a juvenile.
Once the case is resolved, the members of Cramer’s family can pursue a personal injury lawsuit and, ultimately, receive compensation for her medical bills and painful injuries.
