Lancaster, CA – DUI Driver Killed in Fatal Accident at 60th Street

Lancaster, CA (February 9, 2019) – In Lancaster, 29-year-old Cheree Sowell of Rosamond was killed in a fatal accident that caused injuries to six other people. The accident was deemed multi-vehicle as many vehicles collided with one another.

One person was arrested under suspicion of DUI, who has since been identified as 34-year-old Daniel Kaseforth of Lancaster. He is currently being held in jail on these charges.

Police say the accident happened around 4:50 p.m. when Sowell had been driving a Scion and was stopped at a stop sign at 60^th Street West at the intersection with State Route 138. Kaseforth had been driving southbound in a 2007 Ford when he crashed into the back of the Scion without stopping.

The Scion was pushed with such force that it went directly into the path of a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was driving westbound. The pickup crashed into the left side of the Scion. This caused Sowell to receive severe injuries, where she passed away at the scene.

Paramedics treated and transported all injured parties to the hospital following the accident. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash at this time.
