Lincoln, CA. Head-On Crash Kills 1 Person on Highway 65
Lincoln, CA. (July 7, 2018) – One person was reportedly killed after a head-on collision on Highway 65 in Lincoln on Friday afternoon, according to a report made by the California Highway Patrol. The tragic accident occurred at approximately 12:17 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Highway 65 near the Twelve Bridges Drive off-ramp.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a white Toyota Corolla that was carrying two people was apparently heading south on the highway in the vicinity of Twelve Bridges Drive. At some point, the driver of the Toyota lost control of the vehicle, drove across the center median, and apparently crashed head-on into a green Ford that was heading northbound.
The Ford reportedly rolled over due to the impact of the accident and subsequently sustaining serious damage. Sadly, one of the people in the Toyota suffered extremely serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. One other person in the Toyota and one occupant in the Ford both suffered serious injuries. Both were immediately transported to a nearby hospital in conditions that remain unknown at this time.
Firefighters who responded had to close down all northbound lanes in the area while they cleared the scene. Those lanes were reopened at around 2:30 p.m. No names have been released, and the authorities are currently conducting a detailed investigation.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family members of the victim as we are sending our warmest wishes for a full recovery for the other victims.
