Long Beach Accident on 710 Freeway Takes the Life of 1 Pedestrian and Injures Another

(June 24, 2018) – A local news source reported an accident early Saturday morning that claimed the life of a pedestrian and injured another on the 710 Freeway in Long Beach. The fatal accident took place north of Del Amo Boulevard at approximately 2:06 a.m. Saturday morning. Two unidentified men were reportedly hit by a 2005 Honda Civic on the northbound side of the 710 Freeway.

According to the report, emergency crews were immediately on the scene to assist both pedestrians. One of the pedestrians apparently suffered from injuries that turned out to be fatal due to the impact of the crash. The identity of the man who died has not been released in order to properly notify his family first. The other victim whose name and condition have not been released was reportedly transported to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

The exact cause of the crash is currently being investigated, and police have reason to believe that alcohol may have been involved. The California Highway Patrol has not released any information on the motorist.
