Long Beach, CA- Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on Pacific Ave & 25th St

Long Beach (May 22, 2019)- A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and 25th Street on Monday at approximately 9:20 pm.

After being called to the scene, emergency personnel, including the Long Beach Fire Department, found a woman in the intersection, where she was pronounced dead.

Police apprehended two people in a white SUV located close to the scene of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.

An AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety report stated vehicle speed is a major aspect when it comes to the force a pedestrian will experience in an accident with a vehicle. When that speed rises to 58 miles per hour, however, the pedestrian has a 90% chance of severe injury.
