Long Beach, California – One Person Killed, And Four Injured in Deadly Multi-Vehicle Accident
Long Beach, California (June 25, 2018) – Local news sources reported that one person was killed, and four injured during a deadly multi-vehicle traffic accident that took place near Artesia Boulevard and Cherry Avenue. The incident took place at approximately 9:30 AM on Monday, June 25, 2018. Authorities have not released information regarding the identities of the woman and four children to public sources.
As per the report, the 37-year old Long Beach woman was driving her red 1998 Ford Expedition down Artesia Boulevard at the same time a black 2006 Cherokee Jeep was heading southbound on Cherry Avenue, where the driver attempted to speed through a red light. As a result, the Jeep slammed into the side of the Ford, which ultimately veered southeast and crashed into a light pole.
As a result of the first impact, the Jeep plowed into an oncoming gray 2013 Kia Optima and a black 2008 GMC Yukon. Both vehicles had paused in the northbound lanes on Cherry Avenue while waiting for a green light.
Authorities have reported that the woman and four children were transported to a local hospital after the crash. Sadly, the woman suffered traumatic injuries and died. Meanwhile, the four children sustained non-life threatening injuries and have been listed in fair condition.
Police reports have not specified if the drivers of the Jeep, Kia, and GMC suffered any severe injuries as a result of the accident, as the investigation is ongoing.
We extend our most heartfelt prayers and deepest condolences to the family of the deceased woman during this difficult time. We also send our most loving prayers to the four children and wish them fast and efficient recoveries.
