Long Beach, California – Pedestrian Dead after Fatal Accident on the 710 Freeway

Long Beach, California (July 3, 2018) – Local news sources reported that a fatal pedestrian accident took place on the 710 (Long Beach) Freeway in the vicinity of Long Beach. The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 AM in the early morning hours on Saturday, June 23, 2018. As of today, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased victim as 29-year old Long Beach resident Jose Garcia. However, authorities have not revealed any detailed information concerning the identity of the second pedestrian involved in the accident at this time.

As indicated, Garcia and the unidentified man were walking along the 710 Freeway. At some point, for indeterminate reasons, a vehicle sped along the roadway and crashed into the two pedestrians. First responders reported that Garcia had suffered intense trauma and died at the crash site.

Meanwhile, the second man was taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where he received treatment for traumatic injuries. His current condition has not been disclosed.

As of now, the investigation is ongoing. As more evidence begins to surface, more information will be released to public sources.
