Los Angeles, CA – Minor Killed and Another Injured in Broadway Place Pedestrian Crash

Los Angeles, CA (April 5, 2019) – At the intersection of Broadway Place and 37^th Street on Thursday morning, police responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian crash. While there, they found that one minor child was killed and another was critically injured.

The accident took place when two young children were walking to school and were suddenly struck by a truck in the intersection. The truck had been turning northbound from 37^th Street when it struck the juveniles. The girls allegedly had a green light at the time.

The two children were pinned underneath the truck and were dragged following the collision, which happened around 8 a.m.

Fire department officials and paramedics came to the scene of the accident, where they found both girls with severe trauma and took them to the hospital. While there, 14-year-old Marlene Lorenzo tragically passed away and 12-year-old Amy Lorenzo has been listed in critical condition.

The driver of the truck stopped at the scene of the accident and cooperated with police. Their investigation continues at this time.
