Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accidents in California
Sadly, studies show that bicyclists make up 4% of deaths caused by vehicles in California. Although bicycles are not considered vehicles in California, bicyclists still have to abide by the same traffic laws. Therefore, they deserve the same respect on the road as other vehicles. Unfortunately, most bicycle accidents are caused by negligent behavior, which includes speeding, using a cell phone, driving under the influence, and driving fatigued. Drivers are more likely to flee the scene of a bicycle accident if they know their negligent behavior is what caused the crash.
