Los Angeles, CA – Police Pursuit Ends in Violent Pedestrian Accident on 110 Freeway and Local Streets near Union Station

Los Angeles, CA (August 16, 2018) – A local news source reported that a police pursuit resulted in a violent pedestrian accident that took place along the 110 Freeway and local streets, in the vicinity of the Union Station. The incident transpired at approximately 9:44 PM at night on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the driver, her passenger, and the 35-year old female pedestrian has been revealed.

According to the report, the police pursuit started in the South Los Angeles area and occurred on the 110 Freeway. Eventually, police chased after the stolen vehicle southbound across local streets. At one point, one of the passengers left the vehicle and escaped on foot.

Meanwhile, the pursuit continued at dangerous speeds when, at some point, the stolen vehicle swerved around a pillar at Union Station and ultimately crashed into it. The force of the impact sent debris flying into the 35-year old pedestrian woman. Officials have not revealed if the victim received treatment at the site or required hospitalization.

Afterward, the female driver stayed in the car for approximately 30 minutes, until emergency teams utilized the Jaws of Life to extract her from the wrecked vehicle. Police later detained and arrested the motorist and a second passenger.

Presently, the investigation is ongoing.
