Madera, CA – Elderly Man Killed in Fatal Collision at Avenue 12 Intersection

Madera, CA (February 4, 2019) – On Friday night, police responded to a fatal collision that involved two vehicles and occurred at the intersection of Avenue 12 and Road 25. An 81-year-old elderly man was killed in the accident.

Police reported that the man had been a passenger in a Malibu that was being driven by a 76-year-old man headed westbound on Avenue 12. At the time, a young woman had been traveling eastbound on the same road when she suddenly made a left turn, causing her to strike the Malibu.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they tragically pronounced the elderly man deceased. His identity has not yet been released, as family is still being notified.

The woman and the driver of the Malibu also both sustained injuries and were taken to local hospitals, but they are expected to recover.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
