Accident on 5 Freeway Causes Severe Injuries

Redding, Calif. (June 15, 2018) — Major injuries have been reported as a result of an accident that occurred on Friday on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred near the Fawndale Road off-ramp around 12:14 p.m. The crash involved two motorists, but their names have not been released to the public at this time. A Nissan Rogue SV and a gold Grand Marque were involved in the accident.

First responders administered medical care after arriving at the scene, but at least one individual was transported to a local hospital to receive further care. Details regarding the injuries have not been disclosed to the public, but initial reports suggest they are not life-threatening.
