Malibu, CA. 1 Killed After Car Dives 200 Feet Off Malibu Canyon Road
Malibu, CA. (July 4, 2018) – According to the California Highway Patrol, one person was reported to have died following a rollover crash in Malibu on Tuesday night. The accident reportedly occurred at approximately 6:53 p.m. on Malibu Canyon Road, north of Pacific Coast Highway.
California Highway Patrol stated that the unknown vehicle involved in the crash was driving down Malibu Canyon Road Tuesday night when it went off the edge of the road. The vehicle apparently rolled over during the crash and landed on its side afterward. The sole occupant of the vehicle sustained serious and fatal injuries during the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to initial reports, the victim was a woman in her 50’s. However, that statement was not immediately confirmed. Malibu Canyon Road had to be shut down between Pepperdine University and Piuma Road. The exact cause of this accident has not been made clear as per the reports. The California Highway Patrol is currently conducting a thorough investigation in order to determine the events that led to this accident.
