Malibu, California – Pedestrian Dies after Deadly Accident on Pacific Coast Highway

Malibu, California (July 9, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a deadly pedestrian accident took place on the Pacific Coast Highway, in the vicinity of Yerba Buena Road. The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 AM at night on Sunday, July 8, 2018. Authorities have not revealed any detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash at this time.

As per the CHP report, an unidentified middle-aged man was walking down the Pacific Coast Highway and attempted to walk in an unmarked crossing area. Without warning, the victim was clipped by an oncoming Chevrolet van. First responders confirmed the pedestrian had died at the crash site. No further details have been provided about the driver.

As part of the investigation, authorities closed down all southbound lanes on the Pacific Coast Highway until further notice.
