Martinez, CA- Amtrak Train Crash Kills Pedestrian Near I-680 in Martinez
Martinez, CA (April 25, 2019)- A woman who died after being hit by Amtrak’s San Joaquins Train No. 718 has been identified as 36-year-old Martinez resident Marolyn Sullivan.
The train crash happened on Tuesday evening at around 7:05 pm on the Union Pacific tracks near Escobar Street and Marina Vista Avenue, east of the overcrossing for Interstate 680.
The train was carrying 75 passengers when the collision occurred. None of the passengers or crewmembers were injured.
Officials reported that Sullivan passed away at the crash scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
