Mendocino County, CA – Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on US-101 Takes One Life
Mendocino County, CA (February 26, 2019) – A man identified as James Wakefield Jr. was injured, while a Kelseyville man lost his life, in a fatal two-vehicle crash.
The accident happened around 4:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon, when road conditions were affected by the rainy weather. Police say that a 22-year-old man from Kelseyville had been traveling northbound on Highway 101 when, for reasons that are not yet known, the vehicle started to skid out of control and traveling into oncoming traffic.
The 22-year-old collided with James Wakefield Jr., of Redwood Valley. By the time police and paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident, the unidentified 22-year-old was already pronounced deceased.
On the other hand, Wakefield Jr. was transported to the hospital with injuries.
At this time, the accident remains under investigation.
