Menifee, CA – Abel Soto Struck and Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 74

Menifee, CA (February 17, 2019) – 25-year-old Abel Soto was killed in a pedestrian accident that took place on Highway 74 when the driver stopped to help a dog on the side of the road. The collision took place in the westbound lanes of the highway.

At the time, Soto had been driving eastbound when he noticed a dog in the middle of the road. He pulled off on the side of the road and got out of his vehicle to cross the road and assist the dog. That was when a 19-year-old man came through the area and struck Soto.

Paramedics were called to the scene and found that Soto had tragically lost his life. The teenage driver also received a variety of injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police determined that the driver was not under the influence of drugs at the time. At this time, the investigation continues.
