At present, authorities are working hard to determine what exactly caused the crash. Forensic teams may examine photographs of the crash site and inspect the bike and truck for mechanical issues or total system failure. Officials may also consider if drunk driving, drug abuse, negligence, distracted driving, or reckless behavior contributed to the events leading up to the crash. Furthermore, authorities might determine if the bicyclist was riding outside a designated bike route. Meanwhile, officials have not determined if the truck driver or the company that owns the truck will be held liable.
Depending on the results of the case, the bicyclist has the legal right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the guilty party. By seeking legal assistance, this individual can receive compensation for a variety of issues including medical bills and painful injuries.
