Merced, California – Male Pedestrian Involved in Collision near R and Main Streets

Merced, California (June 27, 2018) – Local news sources indicated a male pedestrian was involved in a collision that took place at the intersection of R and Main Streets. The incident took place at approximately 9:45 PM on the night of Tuesday, June 19, 2018. At present, authorities have not revealed detailed information concerning the pedestrian and motorist involved in the crash at this time.

As per the report, the man was walking in the vicinity of R and Main when a Honda collided with him in the intersection of the streets. Immediately, first responders provided assistance and transported the victim via helicopter to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment. Medical records did not reveal the nature and extent of his physical condition.  Similar reports did not indicate if the driver of the Honda was injured during the crash.

Police confirmed the pedestrian had been attempting to cross the intersection during a “no-walk” signal when traffic was approaching. While some motorists decreased speed to accompany the man, the Honda driver had not been paying attention and plowed into the pedestrian.

As of now, the investigation is ongoing.
