Milpitas, CA – Motorcyclist Injured after Collision with Larger Vehicle on Southbound Interstate 880 near Highway 23 Transition Ramp
Milpitas, CA (August 22, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a motorcyclist sustained severe injuries as the result of a collision with a larger vehicle that transpired on the southbound lanes of the Interstate 880 Freeway, in the vicinity of the Highway 23 transition ramp. Officials first documented the incident at approximately 6:47 AM on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed.
Based on the report from CHP, an unidentified motorcyclist and a white Cadillac Escalade were traveling in the Milpitas area and, for indeterminate reasons, collided on Interstate 880. Sometime later, paramedics were dispatched to the crash site and discovered the downed bike, which had been blocking Lane 1 on 880.
Afterward, medical personnel transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, where the victim received treatment for severe injuries. The current condition of the rider was not revealed.
Authorities confirmed the Cadillac sustained a flat tire during the crash but did not specify if the driver was injured.
