Modesto, CA – Female Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Vehicle on Pelandale Avenue

Modesto, CA (August 26, 2018) – A local and trustworthy news source in Modesto reported that a female pedestrian was struck and severely injured by a motorist on Pelandale Avenue Saturday evening. The woman who was attempting to cross Pelandale Avenue between Tully Road and McHenry Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle in a dark area of the roadway at approximately 8:37 p.m.

The report released by officials stated that the pedestrian was hit by a sedan that was traveling westbound on Pelandale at the time. The force of the collision caused the woman to be thrown roughly one hundred feet before she landed in the roadway. Emergency responders immediately arrived on the scene to assist the badly injured pedestrian.

Medical personnel was reported to have rushed the injured woman to a local hospital with wounds that were confirmed to be life-threatening. There was an unidentified man walking with the victim at the time of the accident, however, that individual was unharmed. The driver who struck the pedestrian was reported to have remained at the scene following the incident and fully cooperated with authorities.
