Montecito, CA – 77-Year-Old Man Hit by Delivery Truck on Hot Springs Road
Montecito, CA (March 4, 2019) – On the morning of March 2nd, a fatal pedestrian accident happened at the Casa Dorinda retirement community at 300 Hot Springs Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a box truck had finished unloading shipment and began backing up when it struck a 77-year-old man at 10:25 a.m.
The truck driver, 55-year-old Randy Eiquihua, claims that he initially thought he hit a curb, but when he pulled forward and got out to look, he saw the injured man on the ground.
When emergency crews arrived, they found the man dead at the scene. The police are currently investigating to figure out if the truck knocked down the man, or he fell and was run over.
