Moreno Valley, CA – 14-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Cottonwood Avenue

Moreno Valley, CA (February 19, 2019) – Police reported that a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident involving a hit-and-run driver at Cottonwood Avenue.

The crash took place around 6:33 p.m. on Saturday when the teenager was suddenly struck by a Cadillac Escalade being driven by 33-year-old Arevalo Garcia Eleazar.

When paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident, they found the teenager with major injuries in the roadway. The driver of the SUV had fled the scene and did not stop to render aid or call the police. The victim received severe head injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators worked to piece together evidence that helped them find the suspect at his residence, where he was then arrested for felony hit-and-run and causing serious injuries.
