Morongo Valley, CA – 2 Killed in Suspected DUI Collision on CA-62 at Rosella Dr
Morongo Valley, CA (June 14, 2019) – Late Wednesday evening, June 12th, two were killed in a serious accident around 10:30 p.m. The incident took place on CA-62 in the parking lot of a Circle K near Rosella Dr.
Colin Campbell and Gail Lerner, both 49-year-old residents of Los Angeles, were also injured in the accident.
Officials report that Campbell was traveling east on CA-62 in a 2018 Toyota Prius. Campbell was attempting to turn into the Circle K when another driver, traveling westbound in a 2018 Ford Fiesta, struck Campbell at a high speed.
Both passengers of the Toyota, a 17-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, died in the accident. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, while the younger passenger was taken to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Campbell suffered major injuries while Lerner was only minorly injured. Both were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for medical treatment.
The driver of the Ford, 33-year old Nicole Rachel Packer, sustained minor injuries and is suspected to have been intoxicated.
The investigation is still ongoing.
