Motorcyclist Killed in Tragic Accident Near Bear Valley, Alpine Country on Highway 4
Bear Valley, Alpine County, California (June 20, 2018) – California Highway Patrol reported that a motorcyclist was killed in a deadly collision and alleged DUI on Highway 4 in the area of Alpine County at approximately 1:20 PM on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Authorities have not revealed the name of the deceased motorcycle operator, who died from traumatic injuries after being struck by an oncoming vehicle. At present, the driver of the SUV has not yet been identified either.
CHP estimated that the crash took place mid-afternoon when the SUV struck the motorcyclist head-on, ultimately resulting the tragic accident. Medical teams pronounced the unfortunate victim dead at the scene. Furthermore, CHP revealed the SUV driver was transported to a nearby Roseville hospital to receive treatment for injuries. The current condition of this individual has not been released.
Further reports indicated this collision may be the result of drunk driving. Authorities determined the motorist might have consumed alcohol prior to entering the vehicle and may be arrested after the official release from the hospital.
