Motorcyclist Severely Injured in Bakersfield Crash

Bakersfield, California (June 22, 2018)- A two-vehicle collision occurred on Friday, June 22nd and injured at least one motorcyclist. The accident occurred at the intersection of Olive Drive and Roberts Lane at approximately 11:57 a.m.  According to reports, the accident occurred out front of Aaron’s furniture store.

Initial reports indicate that the motorcyclist was hit by an oncoming vehicle and was subsequently knocked off of his bike.  As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist suffered a head injury. The severity of this injury has not yet been released.

Upon arriving at the scene, officials discovered that a gray colored vehicle had been involved in the accident. The make and model of this vehicle were not released at the time of posting.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and administered care to those involved.  Due to the severity of the motorcyclist injuries, officials decided they required further treatment. The driver of the motorcycle was then transported to a hospital to receive further care. Their condition is currently unknown.

Officials are made at the scene of the crash until 12:30 in the afternoon to document the scene and speak with victims and Witnesses. traffic was slowed in the area and vehicles would be directed around the scene of the accident. as officials worked on the scene, the eastbound lane of Olive Drive was temporarily shut down.

An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the accident.
