Driving in Fog

If you are driving into a heavy fog condition you should consider pulling over until the fog clears. But, if you must drive, then move slowly, use your windshield wipers, and turn on low-beam headlights. High-beam headlights will only reflect back to your car and cause glare. Never use just parking or fog lights. Use wipers and defroster as needed for you to see.

As far as on the road, increase your following distance and always be ready to stop suddenly. Don’t cross or pass lanes of traffic unless it is totally needed. Pay attention and listen for traffic you cannot see.

If the fog becomes too thick for you to see, consider pulling over, turning on your emergency signal lights, and waiting for the weather to improve.

If you are a passenger in a car accident and are injured, legal recourse may help. Contact a personal injury lawyer today.
