Nevada City, CA. Fatal Crash at Intersection of Highway 20 and Washington Road

Nevada City, CA. (July 4, 2018) – Unfortunately, at least one person was confirmed to have died Tuesday night following a motor vehicle accident in Nevada City. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 6:51 p.m. on Highway 20 at Washington Road.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the two vehicles which collided at the intersection crashed for reasons that are unknown at this time. One of the vehicles involved was reportedly a blue pickup truck that had overturned due to the impact sustained during the collision. The other vehicle involved in the crash was reported to have been missing a wheel after the accident.

At least one person was pronounced dead after the collision, and one other had to be airlifted to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. The condition of the surviving victim who was transported to the hospital has not been made available. Both lanes of Highway 20 had to be closed down following the crash. There is currently a detailed investigation being conducted in order to determine liability and establish the events of the crash.
