Nevada City, CA – Severe Injuries Reported after Deadly Accident on Eastbound Interstate 880 near Blue Canyon Road Off-Ramp

Nevada City, CA (August 9, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a deadly accident resulting in severe injuries took place along the eastbound lanes of the Interstate 80 Freeway in the vicinity of the Blue Canyon Road off-ramp. Officers first logged the incident at approximately 2:41 PM in the afternoon on Thursday, August 9, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed.

Based on the original report, a white Ford Ranger and an RV were traveling along Interstate 80 when, for indeterminate reasons, the two vehicles collided near Blue Canyon Road. Afterward, CHP received witness reports that one victim had been ejected from one of the vehicles and another had sustained an injury to the head.

Sometime later, firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the crash site and rendered medical aid to one of the victims, who sustained severe injuries during the collision. Sometime later, this individual was sent to a nearby hospital to receive treatment. The current condition of the victim has not been immediately disclosed.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
