Newhall, CA – Alleged DUI Driver Crashes Into Ameci Pizza Restaurant Causing Injury

Newhall, CA (March 10, 2019) – A suspected DUI accident took place Friday, March 9th, around 12:30 p.m. A 40-year-old woman, who was thought to be four times over the legal limit, was charged after she collided her car through the window of an Ameci Pizza restaurant during the busy lunch rush.

Paramedics were called to the scene to assist any injured victims. One man, who is in his 60s, was inside the restaurant at the time of the incident and was hospitalized with moderate injuries from the glass and debris. He was transported via ambulance away from the scene of the incident.

There were a few other patrons inside the restaurant who were struck but did not need to go to the hospital for treatment. They suffered mild injuries from the incident.

Police conducted a field sobriety test and a blood-alcohol test on the driver. She was then arrested for felony DUI with bodily harm when she was found have around a 0.32% blood-alcohol content.

We would like to extend our sincerest sympathies to the victim, as we hope he is pain-free and fully recovers from his injuries.
