Newport Beach, CA – Uber Car Crash on Pacific Coast Highway Kills One and Injures One
Newport Beach, CA (July 22, 2018) – A local and reliable news source in Orange County reported a traffic accident that claimed the life of one person and left another seriously hurt late Friday night. The fatal crash that transpired on Pacific Coast Highway took place west of Jamboree Road, near Promontory Drive at approximately 11:47 p.m.
The Newport Beach Police stated that a truck was traveling west on PCH when it crossed over the median, slid into the oncoming lane and subsequently struck a Scion, according to the report. The driver of the Scion was an Uber driver who was transporting a passenger at the time of the collision. The Uber driver was immediately taken to a local hospital where they were admitted into the Intensive Care Unit. Whether or not the passenger in the Scion was injured had not been specified in the report.
The driver of the truck was sadly killed as a result of the collision, according to the police. The names of the victims involved in this accident have not been released. The authorities are currently conducting a full investigation into this accident in order to determine liability.
