Nicolaus, CA – Deadly Truck Crash on Highway 99 in Sutter County

Nicolaus, CA (August 11, 2018) – One person was reported to have tragically lost their life following a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 99 Saturday afternoon, according to a local news source. The fatal wreck occurred on the highway near Power Line Road and involved a motorhome and a tractor-trailer at an unspecified time during the afternoon.

The crash occurred when the motorhome which was hauling a minivan behind it was T-boned by a large commercial tractor-trailer. The motorhome was traveling in the northbound lanes of the highway as the big rig was heading south. The crash took place just after the driver of the motor home attempted to make a U-turn.

Officials determined that the driver of the motor home had failed to be properly secured within the vehicle and was subsequently ejected due to the impact of the collision. That man sustained fatal injuries during the accident, and his name has not been released at this time.

The driver of the tractor-trailer also suffered injuries and they were immediately transported to UC Davis Medical Center with unspecified injuries. A portion of the highway had to be shut down as authorities began their investigation into the cause of the crash.
