Nipomo, CA – Matthew Diaz Killed in Car Accident Involving Skateboard

Nipomo, CA (January 20, 2019) – 24-year-old Matthew Diaz was killed in a car accident involving a skateboard. The accident took place on Friday night on Frontage Road.

Police say that, at the time, Diaz was riding his skateboard in the southbound lane of Frontage Road when he was struck by the driver of another vehicle. Police confirmed that, when emergency responders arrived at the scene of the accident, Diaz succumbed to his injuries.

The deadly accident took place near the area of Hill Street. The driver of the other vehicle was identified as 30-year-old Miquel Cuevas, who did not notice Matthew Diaz on his skateboard. He told police that he would have seen him if there were shoulders on the road.

At this time, the accident is still under investigation.
