North Highlands, CA – Two People Hit in Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Intersection of Madison Avenue

North Highlands, CA (January 10, 2019) On the night of January 9^th, a fatal pedestrian accident involving to people took place at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Date Avenue at approximately 9:30 pm.

According to the reports, a man and a woman were crossing the intersection when two vehicles approached.  One was a Hyundai Elantra and the other vehicle was a Toyota Prius.  The Hyundai careened into both pedestrians, catapulting the man into the center lane of traffic where he was then run over by the Toyota Prius for a second time.  The woman was thrown into the far lane of traffic.

When emergency crews arrived, they discovered that the 57-year-old man sadly died at the scene from his injuries. The 31-year-old woman was suffering from major injuries and transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment. The authorities are currently investigating the accident.
