North Sacramento, CA (March 17, 2019) – A two-vehicle collision involving an alleged drunk driver occurred on Sunday, just after 1:30 a.m., and tragically took the life of a 9-year-old.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident. According to CHP officers, the accident occurred on Bell Street and Marconi Avenue at 1:36 a.m. on March 17th.

A driver and his 9-year-old son were traveling westbound in a Toyota Corolla on Marconi Ave. Their car was then sideswiped by a driver in an SUV Infinity that was driving on southbound Bell Street.

The suspect fled the scene but has been apprehended. He has since been caught and charged with felony hit and run, DUI, and murder.

We would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of the 9-year-old who lost their life in this tragic accident, as well as extend our sympathies to the child’s father, with the hopes that he will be able to recover from his injuries.
