Oakdale, CA – One Person Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision on Patterson Road near Eleanor Avenue

Oakdale, CA (August 8, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that one victim died as the result of a violent two-vehicle collision that took place in the 5311 block of Patterson Road, in the vicinity of Eleanor Avenue. The incident was first logged a little before 7:30 PM in the evening on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been released.

Based on the initial CHP report, a white Dodge Durango and a Toyota Echo had been traveling along Patterson Road when, for indeterminate reasons, both vehicles collided near Eleanor. As a result of the crash, the Toyota slid off the road and crashed into the water, where it was lodged in a muck pond.

Sometime later, firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the crash site and pronounced one victim dead at the scene. Officials have not specified if any more people were hurt during the impact.

As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities closed down the westbound and eastbound lanes across Patterson Road.
