Oakhurst, CA – Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 49 Leads to Fatality

Oakhurst, CA (February 19, 2019) – On Monday, a two-vehicle accident took place on Highway 49 around 9:30 a.m. that led to one fatality.

The woman who lost her life had been traveling southbound on the highway in a Chevy Silverado when her truck struck an icy spot on the road and she began to slide sideways. This caused her vehicle to veer into the other lane.

From there, the woman’s truck was struck by a Dodge Ram with a trailer that was traveling around 55 mph. The 32-year-old man driving the Dodge was unable to avoid the accident and, in the collision, overturned.

The 43-year-old woman driving the pickup truck suffered fatal injuries and tragically passed away at the scene. The man inside the Dodge and his son who was traveling with him were evaluated by emergency personnel and suffered no injuries.
