Oakland, CA- Osmond Akbar Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Claremont Ave.
Oakland, CA (April 22, 2019)- Claremont Avenue near 60th Street in Oakland was the scene of a crash on Thursday that left a 26-year-old Oakland man dead.
According to the coroner’s office, Osmond Akbar was killed when his 2008 Yamaha R6 motorcycle was hit by a 2005 Honda Civic driven by a 62-year-old Berkeley woman.
Akbar was taken to a local hospital following the crash where he died soon after arrival due to serious injuries.
The Honda driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
It is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in this crash.
An investigation is underway. In the meantime, Oakland police ask anyone with information to call them.
