Oakland, CA- Fatal Motorcycle Vs. Pickup Crash at 12th and Willow Streets
Oakland, CA (May 9, 2019)- The Oakland Police Department reported a motorcycle and pickup truck collision that left the motorcyclist dead and the truck driver with critical injuries.
The crash took place at the intersection of 12th Street and Willow Streets at approximately 8:28 pm on Wednesday.
The OPD noted that the rider on a Honda motorcycle, an Oakland man in his 30s, was hit by the driver of a Dodge pickup, an Oakland man in his 50s. The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where he soon passed away. The Dodge driver was also taken to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
According to the OPD, alcohol may have been a factor in the accident. However, the crash remains under investigation.
