Oakland, CA – Major Injuries Sustained on Jackson Street On-Ramp to 880 Freeway

Oakland, CA – (November 29, 2018) – Major injuries were sustained in a traffic collision that occurred Wednesday morning in Oakland. The accident transpired at approximately 9:45 am on the Jackson Street on-ramp to the 880 Freeway.

Reportedly, a white Ford and another unidentified vehicle were attempting to merge onto the 880 Freeway from Jackson Street when the two vehicles crashed into one another. Oakland firefighters and paramedics responded immediately to the scene and rendered aid to an unknown number of parties. An ambulance was used to transport injured victims to a local hospital to treat major injuries that were sustained in the accident. Authorities did not immediately disclose the identities of those involved in the accident. Traffic was halted in the area of the crash site for police to conduct an on-scene investigation.

The California Highway Patrol has assumed authority over this investigation.
