Oakland, CA – Mother and Child Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Foothill Boulevard

Oakland, CA (August 10, 2018) – A vehicle was reported to have struck a mother and her child on the side of Foothill Boulevard Friday morning, according to local and dependable news sources. The accident which was reported to have occurred in the 4200 block of Foothill Boulevard took place at around 10:42 a.m. near Oakland Charter Academy Middle School.

News outlets reported that a Toyota pickup truck that was towing a trailer had veered onto a sidewalk and subsequently struck a woman and her 2-year-old son in a stroller. According to the reports, the pickup truck had lost control while traveling east for reasons that are currently unknown. The truck was reported to have jumped the curb, crashed into a light post, and the slammed into a metal fence outside of the middle school during the crash.

The toddler involved was rescued as he was caught underneath the truck after the crash. Both the small child and his mother were immediately transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that were classified as non-life-threatening. The driver of the truck also sustained unknown injuries during the accident, however, no names or current conditions of the victims have been released. Authorities are actively investigating the cause of this crash.
