Oakland, CA – Motorcyclist Involved in Collision with Transit Bus on Interstate 80

Oakland, CA (July 25, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported a crash Wednesday morning that occurred between a motorcyclist and an AC Transit bus in the westbound lanes of the I-80 Freeway. The crash that occurred along the interstate and reportedly resulted injuries apparently took place at around 9:06 a.m.

The report released by the California Highway Patrol confirmed that the motorcyclist and the bus had appeared to be the only two vehicles involved in the accident. Emergency responders were called to the scene to attend to any injured parties. At this time, it appears that the motorcyclist was the only one injured in the collision, however, there was no word as to whether or not the victim was transported to a hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the injurious crash is not currently known, although reports indicated that the HOV lane of the freeway had been blocked due to the aftermath of the accident. Neither the name nor the present condition of the victim has been confirmed at this time. Authorities are working to piece together the events that led to this collision in an effort to establish liability.
