Oakland, CA – Multi-Car Injury Accident Blocks NB I-880 at 98th

Oakland, CA (April 7, 2019) – A multiple car collision involving two vehicles and a box truck occurred on Sunday morning just after 8:15 a.m. at during rush hour, that caused injury to at least one person.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this injury accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred around at 5 a.m. on 98th Avenue. The California Highway Patrol stated that three cars were involved in the collision. Firstly, a driver with a flat tire was hit by a box truck. Then, after about ten minutes, another vehicle rear-ended the box truck.

The collision blocked all lanes of northbound Interstate 880. As of 8:17 a.m. all lanes were reopened.

Two victims were transported to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
