Oceanside, CA – 2 Women Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Rancho Del Oro Drive
Oceanside, CA (April 17, 2019) On the afternoon of April 16th, a pedestrian crash happened in the neighborhood that houses the Villa Trieste retirement community.
Reports state that an elderly man was picking up his wife in a silver Toyota Matrix when he accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brakes. As a result, he struck two women, one of whom was his wife as they were waiting outside of the building. The accident occurred on Rancho Del Oro Drive, not far from Mira Costa College, at around 5:20 p.m.
An ambulance quickly arrived at the scene and tended to the two women who both sustained serious injuries. One of the women was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego for more treatment.
Our thoughts are with the injured women and their families at this time. We hope that they are both able to make full recoveries.
